Buerkle Honda is Here to Handle Your Oil Change Needs Serving the St. Paul and Minneapolis Area
Here at Buerkle Honda in St. Paul, we live and breathe all things automotive--and even we can think of at least a dozen things we would rather do on our day off than take our car into the shop for an oil change! Be that as it may, we--like most savvy car owners--know that keeping up with our vehicle's routine maintenance needs is virtually the easiest, most inexpensive, and most foolproof step you can take as a driver to protect your automotive investment.
What exactly does an oil change entail?
Unless you're the do-it-yourself type, it's not entirely necessary for you to know the ins and outs of your car's inner workings, nor should you concern yourself with how exactly to conduct a service such as an oil change--that's what the folks in our onsite service center are here for! However, we do think it's important for modern car owners to have a basic understanding of what exactly we're doing to your vehicle when you bring it into our service department for an enigmatic oil change. And with a greater understanding of what exactly goes on during an oil change, we hope you'll see just how important this seemingly menial maintenance actually is.
To put it in the simplest of terms, your automobile's engine is comprised of countless parts that rub up against one another constantly; in order to keep these parts properly lubricated, thus cooling the engine and inhibiting corrosion, motor oil is added. Needless to say, over time this oil will require periodic draining, after which new oil needs to be added.
More about motor oil...
We touched briefly upon the role of your car's oil and why it needs to be replaced intermittently in the above section. But are all motor oils created equally? The answer is no. Much in the same way that your Honda functions optimally when the parts used for repair are equivalent to those of the original, your Honda's engine was designed to work best with a specific weight grade, or viscosity, of oil. Come to our Buerkle Honda service center where we only use Honda Genuine oil.
What are the repercussions of putting off my car's oil change needs, or having subpar routine maintenance conducted?
As mentioned earlier, routine maintenance is the simplest way to protect the integrity of your vehicle. In the grand scheme of your car ownership experience, routine oil changes are among the least expensive services you'll have to have performed; and yet, regular oil changes can do wonders when it comes to keeping your Honda running smoothly and avoiding costly and inconvenient malfunctions down the road.
