Japanese auto maker, Honda Motors, is constantly looking to reduce emissions and waste from vehicles like the Civic Hybrid and the Insight. Honda is looking at green technoloy in all aspects of their vehicle design and production.
Being the second largest auto maker in Japan, it is a difficult task to leave a small carbon footprint.
In order to help reduce their carbon footprint, Honda is breaking ground on a new 980,000 square foot manufacturing plant that will be as green as they come.
Honda is planning on reaching another benchmark by the year
2012. In their sight is a full line up of plug-in (electric)
vehicles for the model year.
The Japanese motor
company is looking to increase the ratio of hybrid vehicles to 10
percent or more of total production vehicles by 2015. On the
way to this goal, Honda already hopes to have several electric vehicles
within 2 years.
Honda announced its plans to sell a
battery-run electric car in the United States in order to meet legal
requirements in California.
